A Fairy Enchanting Time ♥

Hey guys, I'm back! :)

I had an awesome trip which had extended due to fog and local rallies.
The weather up north was just so amazing! It was freezing and the fog painted the diorama of each day beautifully!

Due to extreme weather, we didn't go out much as my niece and nephew are very young and we didn't want them to fall ill. So, we stayed within Cantt most of days and me and my cousin often went out on long walks at night time as the Cantt of course is very secure. Though the whole setting was just so eerie as after sunset we could hear jackals! And my cousin's residence has an old graveyard opposite to it :D

1. Misty Daewoo Window / 2. Yummy Mango Cupcake / 3. Truck / 4. Coffee / 5. Ludo / 6. Zebra Cake we baked / 7. Carriage Ride / 8. On boat / 9. Lahore To Karachi Daewoo

When indoors, we used to bake everyday and make either coffee or Kashmiri Tea. I couldn't get the pictures of most of the things we baked or cooked as they were in our bellies before we even knew it! :P
We also did BBQ one night! ♥
Usually we used to stay up till late at night and play Ludo and teased each-other by saying, "kabhi toh aao Sarghoda khushboo laga k" (Translation: Come to Sarghoda sometime while wearing a fragrance) when we were to capture another player's counter. It's a saying I read behind a truck once! This reminds me that we have got beautiful truck art on Pakistani trucks and I saw many on my way in Daewoo but I couldn't capture a proper picture in a moving Daewoo plus the trucks themselves were also passing by rapidly.

We went out twice within Cantt on a carriage and that was "THE" best part of my whole trip :D
First time we went to a kids' amusement park, called Fun-land, for our nephew There was a mini zoo there and we did boating! That was fun too!
And second time we went for shopping.

As for what I bought from there, I might include it in a collective haul in future because I didn't buy many things, firstly because we barely left Cantt, secondly because there is nothing that you could get there and not find in Karachi (my current city). So, whatever I bought was solely as souvenir for my family, friends and myself. I have given some of them out already. Mainly bought shawls, Marina shirt pieces and dry fruits.

I'm still extremely tired due to such a long journey of 18+ hours but I had to blog as this is the last eve of 2012!

2012 has been the best year of my life so far ♥

What about you? x

A very Happy New Year to all of you :)

Going On Vacations! :)

Hello butterflies,

I'm posting this to inform you guys that I'll be away for a week or longer as I'm going on vacations!
Actually, I have been sitting at home -while having aptitudes in between- for past 7 months {that's probably the longest overall study break I've ever had!!}

I got into my desired university after an aptitude in November but its session would start in January so I've been totally free lately. This week I'll be travelling up north, to visit my cousin along with my two other cousins and my mom.

I'm so excited and eagerly packing my bags! I can't wait to see my darling niece and nephew! Plus it'll be so much fun to party there in this weather with my cousins.
However,  it'll be a tiring trip. We have booked a Daewoo and it'll take 18 hours with 6 stops in between to reach Okara; a small town in Punjab. We will stay there for most of the week and then go to Lahore for a day or so.

Karachi to Okara to Lahore

As am typing this post, I'm just so pumped and shivering at the same time! It's freakin' cold here in Karachi due to rain these days, even though this city is known for its mild weather! I won't be surprised if I turn into a popsicle on my trip as the weather there is always much more extreme!

I'm leaving this Wednesday and might return by next Wednesday or Thursday.

Nevertheless, I'll be missing my blog and all of you guys a lot! I've become so accustomed of reading and writing blog posts that taking a break from it doesn't sound very pleasing to me.
Anyways, much love. Hope to see you soon! Take care dearies.

Stay in touch with me on twitter while I travel :)

8th KIBF Book Haul

8th KIBF Book Haul
Last Sunday I went to 8th Karachi International Book Fair at the Expo Center and returned with bags loaded with books! I mainly buy books from Paramount and Liberty Books and this year also, as usual I shopped from them. Sadly, Paramount's range has decreased for me over the years so I bought only 3 books from there and rest are from Liberty.

Now to be honest, I haven't read much classics rather mainly fictions and chicklits as a young girl. However, for a change this year I tried picking up books mostly by classic authors.

Starting with Liberty as I got majority of my books from there.

The haul is as follows;

Rumi is always a smart pick!
Rumi The Big Red Book

The Rumi Collection, Shambala Classics

Saadat Hasan Manto; known for his bold writing.

Bitter Fruit; Manto

Gabriel García Márquez; Nobel Prize winner in Literature.

Gabriel Garcia Marquez; Chronicle of death foretold

Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Strange Pilgrims

Gabriel Garcia Marquez; Collected Stories

Gabriel Garcia Marquez; One Hundred Years of Solitude

To Kill A Mocking Bird by Harper Lee; bought this on a friend's suggestion.

Harper Lee; To kill a mocking bird

Paulo Coelho.

Paulo Coelho; The Zahir

Honestly, the name of this book, "White Teeth" , made me to pick it. I have a thing for white teeth! :P The blurb says that it's a comedy so I'm looking forward to it. ;)

Zadie Smith; White Teeth

I got this knowing that it was the best seller of the year but perhaps, it turned out to be a bad piece of literature. This was an impulsive purchase. I should have done some research beforehand. Anyways, I don't recommend buying this.

E.L James; Fifty Shades Trilogy

Lastly, I couldn't keep myself from buying another chicklit! BUT it's Meg Cabot! After reading her Airhead Trilogy, I wanted to read more of her work. Too bad that I couldn't get Queen of Babble's first part. I won't be reading this until I get that.

Meg Cabot; Queen of Babble Trilogy

Oh, and I got this little goodie bag kinda thing from Liberty for shopping there!
Contains bookmarks, pencil and a badge! :D

Liberty Books Goodies

Now these are what I bought from Paramount;

I have read Shakespeare a lot at school and I do have a lot of his books but this one is actually a collection and it was only for 300 PKR so I had to get this.

The Complete Pelican Shakespeare

Adventures of Huckleberry Finn; Mark Twain
I know this is a children's novel and I'm still a kid!! You got a problem with that?! -_-

Adventures of Huckleberry Finn; Mark Twain

The artist in me picked this origami book by Rob from M.A.D ^_^

MAD Origami Book 04

I know these are a lot and it exceeded my budget but I only buy books at fairs. Plus, there are just a couple of them each year and I do go crazy when it comes to books! :/

Have you read any of these already?

NO To Fake Audience!

NO To Fake Audience!
Here is a quick notice, I have been feeling extremely upset lately to discover that in this blogosphere there is a certain bunch of people who leave similar flattering comments on all the blogs that they come across just to ask for follow for follow.

This is just outright mean and such bloggers are lowering the benchmark of blogging by exploiting newbies like me. Just because I have a small audience as a beginner, doesn't mean that I'll settle down for a growing phony audience.

To my dear "newbie exploiters", it gives a very bad impression when people read comments like; "thank you for your kind words on my blog, I'm following you now." , from just about everyone who has commented in return on your post. It just reveals the bitter truth behind your sweet act.

Please note that I do not follow for follow as I don't want a fake audience, rather sincere readers. Kindly, do not spam for a pay-back follow request. Follow my blog only if you really like it. Furthermore, if you want me to check out your blog, please leave your link below in the comment box. I will follow if only your blog would be of any interest to me.

Thank you.

DIY Pink & Black Cheetah Nails

Sorry guys, this post was due yesterday but I had guests over so I couldn't write it even though I had managed to take the pictures for this tutorial.

I love big cats but when it comes to clothing and accessorizing, cheetah print (for me) is a print that can either look tacky or classy, depending on how you dress it up. The word's out and I am so not into browns and golds this fall so this is my take on cheetah print with pink and black.

DIY Pink & Black Cheetah Nails

If you have read my past posts on nail tutorials, you must have an idea by now that I don't own a dotting tool and have rather substituted it with a toothpick!

I first painted my nails black as a base coat and then drew on thick curves (as shown in photo) with a toothpick to make my cheetah print.

Once again sorry guys, I forgot to take the picture while drawing these curves. :(

My nails are not very big so I couldn't draw on more than just a few curves on each nail, therefore, I filled in the little gaps with dots.

I would also like to share that today I went to the 8th Karachi International Book Fair and bought loads and loads of books! Watch out for a book haul ;)

DIY Painted Bobby Pins

After glam-ing up my keys earlier this week, I decided it's time to funkiszie my bobby pins! :D

Just like those sparkling keys, this is also very simple and cute! You can instantly get the perfect shade of hair clip to match your outfit!

DIY Painted Bobby Pins

You will need:

DIY Painted Bobby Pins requirements

1. Bobby Pins
2. Nail Polishes/Glitter/Acrylic Paints
3. Clear Nail Polish/Any glue that dries clear (e.g: Mod Podge, German Glue)
4. Cardboard Sheets/Folded Paper.

DIY Painted Bobby Pins
Step 1. Pin your bobby pin on a piece of cardboard or folded paper so that it is easier to paint, rather than holding it in your hand and this will also prevent the other limb of bobby pin from getting painted or else both can stick together.

Step 2. Paint two to three coats of nail polish on the bobby pin to make it completely opaque. Wait for one coat to dry before painting another one or it will take much longer to dry.

For glittered bobby pins, first paint a coat of either glue or clear nail polish and then sprinkle glitter on top of it to cover it completely.

You can even paint your bobby pins with acrylic colours. These will last much longer.

Step 3. To seal in your nail polish or glitter for a longer period of time, paint a coat of clear nail polish and leave them to dry.

Here is how these look in hair;
