Korean beauty products from Skin18
PR Samples*
Keeping up with the Koreans, here is another skin care range review. I was sent a handful of masks by the infamous Skin18 which is an online haven for all things beauty. I have been quite excited to try these out as I always say focus on your skin, makeup is secondary.

So I got a total of five products in my care package out of which one was a wash off gel mask, two were sheet masks and two were nose cleansing strips. So I did a little spa ritual at home and split the sheet masks and nose strips with my mum.

Here's what we think.

Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Face Polish

I don't know about you but out of all skin care products, I am a fan of exfoliators. They give me a very satisfying feeling of cleanliness so I always look forward to trying new ones. I was sent this Klairs Gentle Black Sugar Face Polish by Wishtrend and it is a Korean beauty product so that got me really intrigued.

This face polish comes in such a cool looking vintage tub with an extra protective plastic lid inside. The product itself is made up of these three key ingredients: Black Sugar, Shea Butter, and Cranberry Seed Oil. The tiny granules of black sugar are what obviously provide the exfoliation and I know it looks like brown sugar but that's how it is. The shea butter moisturises while nourishing the skin and cranberry seed oil is packed with antioxidants and Vitamin E to further enhance moisture retention and skin elasticity. There are no parabens, alcohol or artificial colour added and one other notable ingredient is Andiroba Oil which is anti-inflammatory so it soothes skin.

Fashion Pakistan Week: My Hair, Makeup and Outfits

Thursday, 19 May 2016

Being all stylish and stuff! ;)
This post has been long due but you already know April was a crazy month and better late than never. For the fourth time in a row, I was at the Fashion Pakistan Week this year to witness upcoming spring/summer trends. I will touch upon what I adored from some of the showcasing collections in a later post but today I just want to tell you all about my hair, makeup, and outfits for the event.

For the three days of fashion, I was offered hair and makeup by Depilex which is owned by Masarrat Misbah and her family. So for hair, my favourite stylist at the salon is Ayesha and she is great with braids and twists hence I loved my hair on the first day the most as it looked effortless. For makeup, everything used was from Masarrat Misbah Makeup range so the base we stuck with was Mocha mainly and I went with nude lipsticks on all three days but Cafe Tint is my new found favourite from the brand as it was used on me on Day 1 and then I asked for it again on Day 3.

Ayesha Ziya Oud Fragrances - Coming to Pakistan SUPER Soon

Ayesha Ziya Oud Fragrances
Ayesha Ziya, a UK based entrepreneur, is planning on launching her luxurious oud fragrances in Pakistan this Ramadan after being a hit in UK, Doha, and South Africa. So, for that matter, today we had a bloggers/press meetup at Karachi Gymkhana. To begin with, the lady herself is such a sweet soul and as she told us her story about coming up with this sensational range being a chemistry student, one could tell how her passion runs deep for what she does.

Oud is made out of different kinds of woods from all across the world after being soaked in oils for months and the brand, Ayesha Ziya, focuses on encapsulating the natural essence of it but with a twist. If you are familiar with Arabic scents, you would know that oud is quite popular amongst Arabs but Ayesha wanted something that is not as strong so that it can be worn easily by most people. Hence, she made an Arabic and French hybrid. Which means most of these have a fruity, floral hint.

That Lipstick Hack For Instant Matte Finish

That Lipstick Hack For Instant Matte Finish

I love a statement pout and two of my favourite bold lipsticks are Milani Uptown Mauve* and Shades By Gal Boysenberry* but both of these have a creamy texture, a sheen and can smear all over easily. Going from glossy/creamy to matte with touch of a powder has been a popular lipstick hack and while I had tried it in the past, only recently I fell in love with it.

If you have a lipstick shade that you really love but wish it was matte rather than glossy or creamy, all you need is a baby powder (or translucent powder, if you're feeling fancy) to instantly achieve that matte finish. Just apply your lipstick, take a little bit of baby powder and dab it on your lips with a finger until the powder blends.

Monthly Favourites: April Edition

Next Just Pink Fizz Tangle Teezer

Another month choke-slammed. April was as tough as it could get with the month starting off with Fashion Pakistan Week followed by a long string of university tasks; assignments, presentations, running around town for research and you know stuff like that. Consequently, I have had to slow down on the blogging front and now I have my finals in a week but I will still try to keep it busy here rather than going completely MIA.

So, there isn't much to share with you guys from April but the things mentioned are what I really swore by and enjoyed.

Mother's Day With The Body Shop

Monday, 9 May 2016

We don't have any particular Mother's Day rituals so we just took our mum out for a shopping spree yesterday but you know how modest mothers are and she was all like 'oh, no, you don't have to buy me that'. Nonetheless, we let her get a couple things and I still want to gift her something else but more like a surprise so I'll just sneakily shop some other day. Meanwhile, The Body Shop was heroic for giving us bloggers vouchers worth 10,000 PKR so that our mothers could feel pampered in luxury.

It's coincidental but for the past couple of times whenever I have to pick something for mum, I always end up shopping at The Body Shop. She loves it though she is always asking for Chocomania which has been discontinued but it is her all time favourite flavour so I hope they bring it back soon and we will definitely stock up.

Dessert Taste Test feat. Kakes By Karimi Variety Box

Kakes by Karimi - Variety Box
PR Sample*
Kakes by Karimi, a Karachi based dessert business, recently came out with a Variety Box which contains four different types of oven baked sweets. I love the concept of this sort because it gives you an opportunity to try out a little bit of everything before settling for your favourites. In this box, you can get a slice of Lemon Meringue Pie, Red Velvet Cake, Chocolate Truffle Tart and a piece of Nutella Brownie. So you see there is quite a variety as each one of these are totally different.

Before I give you the lowdown on the taste I would just like to appreciate the fact that the product placement within the cute white box was so good that none of these slid or smashed into one another during delivery. They seemed to be glued down with sugar syrup or something of the sort maybe but it was not detectable upon tasting.
